🚨 Top Cyber Threats & Breaches This Month
1. T-Mobile Data Breach Lawsuit Expands

🕵️ MIS Insight: Reused PINs and weak passwords remain the biggest vulnerabilities in personal and corporate accounts. Enforce multi-factor authentication (MFA) wherever possible.
2. Ransomware Hits Texas County Government
A local county government in Texas was forced offline last week due to a LockBit ransomware attack. Critical systems including email, permitting, and tax services were impacted.
💡 MIS Tip: Backup systems offsite, test recovery plans quarterly, and train your staff to spot phishing emails.

🔐 Know Your Threats: Business Email Compromise (BEC)
BEC scams are on the rise. These socially engineered attacks impersonate executives or vendors to trick employees into wiring money or disclosing credentials.
👨🏫 How to Stay Safe:
Always verify high-risk requests with a phone call.
Use role-based email alerts (e.g., “Finance Approval Needed”) to reduce spoof risk.
Employ SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records to protect your email domain.
💡 Small Business Spotlight: Are You Vulnerable?
Cybercriminals don’t just target the big guys. 43% of cyberattacks now target small and medium-sized businesses, and 60% of them close within 6 months of a breach.
🔍 Ask Yourself:

“Think Before You Click”
Phishing emails are getting harder to spot. If something feels off—pause. Hover over links before clicking. Verify senders before opening attachments. When in doubt, report it.
